Your operating role can provide contribution, belonging, recognition and a sense of competence. Changing it may affect those experiences even when the company and your finances can support the change.
Notice the response and examine the decision
Suppose a leader resolves a customer issue without calling you. You can be pleased with the result and feel excluded. Review whether the decision was sound and within the agreed authority. Then consider what being needed in that situation has meant to you.
Personal reflection helps you choose your response. It does not create a diagnosis or an emotional-readiness score. The iBD milestone requires an agreed plan and actual practice; you do not have to stop caring about the business.
M25: Role Transition helps you identify what to preserve, try meaningful activities and relationships beyond the operating role, and begin an agreed change. Private reflections can remain private.
