Number, System and Leader describes three parts of a leader’s contribution: the result they help produce, the function they build and the leadership capability they demonstrate.
| Part | What it addresses | Useful evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Number | Supported business results | The agreed margin result with its revenue, cost and cash implications. |
| System | The function’s repeatable capability | A maintained job-costing process used in pricing and delivery decisions. |
| Leader | Demonstrated responsibility and development | Delegation practiced and reviewed through actual work and feedback. |
Use the assessment to choose the work
The Functional OS Assessment examines the company’s systems. The Leadership Readiness Assessment examines the person. They help identify useful commitments; increasing a self-assigned rating does not itself earn an award.
Agree the relevant contribution, measures, weights, starting position, evidence and review before the performance period. Include cooperation across functions where it supports the company plan. These are terms to define for the actual responsibility.
M23: Short-Term Incentives connects this work to a supported annual agreement.
