Velocity Score™

Definition

The Velocity Score™ is a radar chart visualization that maps an owner’s self-assessed score across all nine modules of the iBD Ownership OS™. Each module is a dimension on the chart, and the owner rates themselves on a scale that rolls up to a total of 81.

The shape of the radar tells the story: a fully expanded, circular shape means the business has strong throughput across all nine dimensions. Where the shape dips inward, that’s the constraint — the bottleneck limiting momentum toward Independence Escape Velocity™.

Why It Matters

The Velocity Score makes the abstract concept of “progress toward independence” visual and concrete. It shows at a glance where the owner is strong, where the gaps are, and which constraint is most limiting their throughput of time, cash flow, and wealth.

A typical first assessment might land around 37 out of 81. The score is not a judgment — it’s a diagnostic that tells the owner where to focus. The goal is to push each dimension outward over time through the work of the OS.
